Vince Neil has returned to the stage for the first time since undergoing an undisclosed medical procedure that forced Mötley Crüe to postpone their Las Vegas residency earlier this year.
Neil and his solo band played a gig on Friday night (August 1st) in Boston, marking his first performance in nearly a year. At one point during the show, he took a moment to address the audience, as well as his recent absence.
“Hey, thank you, everybody,” Neil told the crowd at MGM Music Hall. “It’s good to be here. I haven’t been on stage since almost a year now. I had a medical thing that happened to me, and they said I wouldn’t be back on stage again. I said, ‘Fuck that, man.’ And I’m back and I’m with you guys tonight. And I’m really proud to be here, man. Thank you so much.”
The setlist included plenty of Mötley Crüe staples such as “Shout at the Devil” and their cover of “Smoking in the Boys Room.” Vince noticeably struggles to hit some of the higher registers, but fan footage sees him physically spry and active on the stage, apparently fully recovered from the medical issue.
It’s certainly a good sign for fans attending the rescheduled Las Vegas residency dates in September (12th, 13th, 17th, 19th, 20th, 24th, 26th, and 27th) and October (1st and 3rd). The shows are set to take place at Dolby Live at Park MGM, and you can get tickets here.
